Alexa L. Borden and Connor Cook have been signed on to compose the score for First Bloom Films' upcoming body horror thriller, The Designer, starring Katherine Waddell, Ethan Slater, and Gina Gershon. This is the second feature-length collaboration between the co-composers and First Bloom Films after previously composing the score for writer/director Em Johnson's award-winning coming-of-age drama Balloon Animal, now available to watch on Prime. Borden's first collaboration with Johnson was on the director's debut feature film, Blush.
Borden and Cook have been co-scoring films for over 10 years, beginning their composing partnership at Columbia College Chicago in 2014 while students in the MFA Music Composition for the Screen Program. To date, they have co-scored dozens of projects, ranging from narrative films, documentaries, video games, and live musicals.
